Terms of
Service

Please read these terms carefully before using the NjangiBase platform.

Last updated: February 1, 2026

1. Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to NjangiBase ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our platform, website, and services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

NjangiBase provides community finance, mutual aid, governance, and member-support tools for associations. Network mutual aid services provide solidarity support during times of need through crowdfunding-based campaigns.

2. Definitions

  • "Member" means an individual approved for membership in NjangiBase.
  • "Chapter" means a local organizational unit of NjangiBase in a specific area.
  • "Campaign" means a solidarity fundraising effort for an eligible member.
  • "Contribution" means financial support provided to campaigns.
  • "Zone" means the economic classification (A, B, or C) based on country of residence.
  • "Waiting Period" means the initial 90-day period after membership approval during which benefit eligibility is deferred.

3. Nature of Our Service

Important: NjangiBase is a mutual aid organization, not an insurance company or microfinance institution.

Our platform facilitates community solidarity through crowdfunding. Benefits are not guaranteed and depend on community participation and available funds. NjangiBase does not guarantee any specific outcome or amount for any campaign.

Campaign types include death or repatriation support, medical emergencies, educational scholarships, and disaster relief. Each campaign type has specific eligibility requirements and target amounts based on the beneficiary's zone.

4. Membership Eligibility and Requirements

To be eligible for membership, you must be at least 18 years old, provide accurate personal information and supporting documents, be affiliated with an active NjangiBase chapter, and accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Membership requires a two-stage approval process: first by your local chapter president, then by NjangiBase administration. Approval is not guaranteed and is subject to verification and compliance with membership requirements.

New members are subject to a 90-day waiting period during which they are not eligible to receive campaign benefits. This period allows members to demonstrate commitment through regular participation and contributions.

5. Member Obligations

As a member, you agree to:

  • Provide truthful and accurate information in all submissions
  • Keep your contact information and profile up to date
  • Participate in solidarity campaigns according to your chapter's requirements
  • Respond to contribution obligations in a timely manner
  • Avoid fraudulent or misleading campaign requests
  • Respect other members and maintain the dignity of the community
  • Comply with chapter governing rules and network policies

6. Zone-Based Contribution System

NjangiBase uses a three-zone system to support economic fairness among included solidarity chapters:

ZoneContribution RateExamples
Zone A100%Europe, North America, Australia/New Zealand, Japan, Gulf States
Zone B50%South Africa, Nigeria, China, Brazil, India
Zone C25%Lower-income regions or homeland communities defined by network policy

Campaign scope decides which chapters are included first. Zone rates are then used to calculate fair obligations for included chapters, especially when a campaign spans multiple economic zones.

7. Campaign Rules

To be eligible for campaign benefits, members must have completed the 90-day waiting period, be in good standing with their chapter, have met contribution obligations for previous campaigns, and have no active campaigns already in progress except emergencies.

All campaign requests must be submitted through the official platform with complete documentation. False or misleading information in campaign submissions may lead to immediate membership termination and legal action.

Campaigns are reviewed by NjangiBase administrators, who may approve, reject, or request additional information. NjangiBase reserves the right to reject any campaign at its discretion.

8. Chapter Operations

Chapters are responsible for collecting contributions from their members. The collection method, such as cash, mobile money, or bank transfer, is determined by each chapter. NjangiBase tracks obligations at chapter level; internal member-level collection is the chapter's responsibility.

Each chapter must meet minimum membership requirements based on its zone and maintain active participation in the network to remain in good standing.

9. Intellectual Property

The NjangiBase platform, including its design, logos, content, and software, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

10. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Submit false or fraudulent campaign requests
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your eligibility
  • Use the platform for money laundering or other illegal activities
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other members
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures or access unauthorized data
  • Share your account credentials or allow unauthorized access
  • Use automated systems to access the platform without permission

11. Suspension and Termination

NjangiBase may suspend or terminate your membership for violations of these Terms, failure to meet contribution obligations, fraudulent activity, or other conduct detrimental to the community. Terminated members forfeit pending benefits and may be required to repay funds received under false pretenses.

You may request to terminate your membership at any time, subject to settling any outstanding obligations.
